This tool takes the first day of your last period and your average cycle length, then calculates the estimated next period date, works backward 14 days from that to estimate ovulation, and shows a fertile window — the days around ovulation when conception is most likely, accounting for sperm viability (up to about 5 days) and the egg's shorter viable window (about 24 hours) after release.

Cycle length matters significantly here — a 28-day cycle and a 35-day cycle produce noticeably different ovulation date estimates even from the same period start date, since the luteal phase (the roughly 14-day span from ovulation to the next period) stays relatively consistent while the follicular phase (before ovulation) is what varies most between different cycle lengths.

This is a statistical estimate based on average cycle patterns, not a measurement of an individual's actual ovulation — cycles vary naturally from month to month even for the same person, and this calendar-based method doesn't detect the biological signs (like basal body temperature shifts or LH surges) that dedicated fertility tracking methods use.
